Foundation spreads to Uganda

organization Ummah Foundation has set up camp in Uganda to assist
Muslim in various area. The Foundation with its sister organization
3Z Foundation have for the last eight months been involved in a
number of programmes in the country which include bursary programmes
from primary to university level, social welfare programmes as well
supporting mosques and madrasas.
Several patients with heart complications have also been sponsored
by the Foundation to India where they undertook heart surgery.
According to the Foundation coordinator in Uganda Muhammad Katoto,
Ummah Foundation is working with other organizations in the country
to have a uniform curriculum for madrassas. “We have spoken
to a number of organizations and they are fully supportive of the
idea,” he told The Friday Bulletin.
The curriculum is being drawn by the Uganda Qur’an Schools
Association.
Katoto said in a bid to effectively address the challenges facing
the community, Ummah Foundation was working on think tank which
will bring together various professionals to deliberate and work
on solutions for pressing problems facing Muslims in Uganda.
