STATEMENT BY JAMIA MOSQUE COMMITTEE ON GLOBE ROUNDABOUT LAND
(PLOT NO LR. 209/136/259)
Statement issued by JMC Chairman on 18th May 2009 at Jamia Masjid.

It has come to our attention that a lot of disinformation and adverse news is being peddled regarding the ownership of the Globe round about plot.

We reiterate that Jamia Mosque Committee is the legal owner of the 5 acre plot, LR No 209/136/259 on the Globe Round about which was procured on behalf of the Muslim community.

Below is evidence towards the same.

Among the developments earmarked on the plot is a Mosque which is expected to ease congestions experienced by worshippers at Jamia Mosque and a multi storeyed development.

Jamia Mosque Committee is within its rights to protect its property against trespassers.

Jamia Mosque Committee obtained a Court Order to evict the mechanics squatting on the plot after they rejected offers from Jamia Mosque Committee for peaceful relocation from the site.

No amount of politicking from busy bodies will stop Jamia Mosque Committee from developing or transacting on its property.

We have communicated to all institutions of Government and also advised them in writing enclosing all the relevant documents.

Jamia Mosque Committee has been exercising a lot of restraint as we endeavor to find amicable ways to get possession of our property. As Muslims, we wish to state that it is our right to own property in any part of the country and we do not wish to see any encumbrances and interferences in exercising our constitutional rights.

Jamia Mosque Committee will use all lawful means to deal with idlers bent on trespassing on its land. Jamia Mosque Committee will equally continue to exercise restraint despite the provocation of the idlers and busy bodies seeking for cheap publicity over private property legally belonging to Jamia Mosque.
