VANET refers to Vehicular Ad Hoc Network which is a subcategory of Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) where wireless network which allow vehicle nodes to communicate to each other in the road and provide signal to car driver to improve security. VANET allows vehicles to communicate with roadside equipment. VANET was introduced in 2001.
Vehicular ad hoc network is known as the network of vehicles which moving at a relatively high speed to communicate among cars with different purposes and the main purpose is to improving security on the road. Especially Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) is created by the principles of mobile ad hoc networks which is always now as the MANETs. A form of mobile ad hoc network is to provide communications between vehicles and nearby fixed equipment which is usually described as roadside equipment. VANET is the most important and interesting network in our society because it provide security and save environment in the road by providing the range of a single Wireless LAN link in the limited to a few hundred meters. It is one of the most interesting innovations by USA. In the technologies VANET has drawn attention for its various applications such as video streaming, text chats, instant messaging etc. This network are become the most relevant form of mobile ad hoc networks .In the developing countries, they are implementing various technology to reduce car clashes, collapses , accidents etc. which has a great impact of countries development. In the context of development of vehicle industry and wireless communication technology, a vehicular ad hoc network is the one of the most promising research fields.
VANETs provide communications among nearby vehicles and between vehicles and nearby roadside equipment but apparently differ from other networks by their own characteristics. Specifically, the nodes which refer to the vehicles in VANETs are limited to road topology while moving for the information available which helps to predict the future position of a vehicle. However, VANETs has become several challenging characteristics for the large scale and high mobility. The vehicular environments are more dynamic because most cars usually are at a very high speed and change their position constantly. The high mobility leads to a dynamic network topology because it links between nodes connect and disconnect very often.
Vehicular Networks System consists of large number of nodes, approximately number of vehicles exceeding 750 million in the world today , these vehicles will require an authority to govern it, each vehicle can communicate with other vehicles using short radio signals DSRC (5.9 GHz), for range can reach 1 KM, this communication is an Ad Hoc communication that means each connected node can move freely, no wires required, the routers used called Road Side Unit (RSU), the RSU works as a router between the vehicles on the road and connected to other network devices. Each vehicle has OBU (on board unit), this unit connects the vehicle with RSU via DSRC radios, and another device is TPD (Tamper Proof Device), this device holding the vehicle secrets, all the information about the vehicle like keys, drivers identity, trip details, speed, rout etc,
VANET is the one of the most important wireless network in our daily life because it has provided safe environment in our society. In the context of there is no implementation of the VANET even having unsafe road in Nepal and everyday more than 50 accident occur just because of blind road and the damage road. In USA there’s use of the car more than the two wheeler vehicles but in Nepal there is two wheeler vehicles then the car which is the name reason to not have a VANET in Nepal. The main problems that we have found while research about the VANET is there also most have a VANET system in the two wheeler because having the car accident is not only safe environments. If there will be also in signal in the two wheeler then there will also have the more safe environment in the society.
In the paper titled “Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks: Architectures, Research Issues, Methodologies, Challenges, and Trends” which is published in Article first published online: August 31, 2015; Issue published: August 1, 2015 Received: September 01, 2014; Accepted: November 06, 2014 Has review that Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are one of the hot researches in the last few years. It is the one of the high dynamic topology and predictable mobility which attracts so much attention of both academia and industry. In this paper, it has provided overview aspects of VANETs from a research perspective. This paper it discusses three popular research issues and general research methods, and ends up with the analysis on challenges and future trends of VANETs.
Similarly in the paper “Security Analysis of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANET) “ it has review that Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANET) is the one of the mostly gained the attention of today’s research efforts to protect the network from adversary and attacks still not enough. It has been trying to reach a satisfactory level, for the driver and manufacturer to achieve safety of life and infotainment. The need for a robust VANET networks is the one of the most strongly dependent on their security and privacy features, which has been discussed in this paper. In this paper a various types of security problems and challenges of VANET been analyzed and discussed where they have also discuss a set of solutions presented to solve these challenges and problems.
Again in the paper “Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs): Challenges and Perspectives” vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET), it said that a subclass of mobile Ad Hoc networks (MANETs), is a promising approach for future intelligent transportation system (ITS). These networks have no fixed infrastructure and instead rely on the vehicles themselves to provide network functionality. However, due to mobility constraints, driver behavior, and high mobility, VANETs exhibit characteristics that are dramatically different from many generic MANETs. This article provides a comprehensive study of challenges in these networks, which we concentrate on the problems and proposed solutions. Then we outline current state of the research and future perspectives. With this article, readers can have a more thorough understanding of vehicle ad hoc networking and the research trends in this area.
For this paper, we have used qualitative approach to conduct the research. It implies to provide a complete, detailed description of the research topic. It is usually more exploratory in nature.
The major method of collection of data has been done by researching the relative topic from the internet. As a group we divided work to each other and collected the information of our own part and combined it to form this paper.
The most basic tool used for the purpose of this research will be Microsoft Word and EndNote.

After doing complete research in VANET we found out that it played an important role in maintaining safety of vehicles. It is a very efficient way for vehicles or travelling nodes to communicate with each other. DDOS attack is a huge problem in the VANET environment,

Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) are those networks which are created by applying the principles of mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) – the creation of a wireless network to the data exchange. Vehicular ad hoc network is the consisting of a network of vehicles which judge in the moving at a relatively high speed to communicate among themselves with different purposes and the main purpose is to improving security on the road. VANET is not apply in our country because the poor developing of our country. But in our view, in the context of the Nepal we need the VANET because our roads are not are not save. Every Day we hear about the accident and the dead behind the accident which is the biggest symbol of not save road. If there will be VANET in the Nepal the accident will be decrease day by day. VANET is the one of the most interesting part of the innovation by the USA. It create the safe and life save environment in the society.
There are some of the comfort applications which will provide very good business in the coming up market (e.g., in-vehicle internet access). To have these types of applications many problems which is related to the routing in partitioned ad hoc networks must be solved. VANETs i.e., connectivity, coverage are related to the traffic flow which have variable of both time and space. It is strongly belief that these characteristics should be captured in a way to design reliable and high performance protocols and application. In our society there is no work in the base of VANET, but if there will be then it will be the one of the grestest thing in the society of the safe environment. The simulation results could be trustable. Since experimental evaluation of VANETs is expensive, simulation technique should be improved. There are some works attempting to conduct co-simulation. In this case two or three simulators, simulate network and traffic characteristics and driver behavior.
